  • Violations: Vehicles parked in this area will be issued a violation notice.

***Please Carpool! There is limited parking at Coconut Grove Marketplace, so we encourage everyone to carpool to the best of your abilities! ***

Start/Finish. The half marathon will begin at 6:00 am and the 5k will begin at 6:15 am. We will start and finish at Coconut Grove Marketplace in front of the beach volleyball court. This is located at 75-5809 Ali’i Drive in Kailua-Kona.

Road closure. The road will be closed on the makai (south bound) lane of Ali’i Drive. Full road closure of both the north and south bound lanes will be in effect from Coconut Grove Marketplace to Walua Road. Road closure will be from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please still be aware that cars may be turning out from driveways. Police will be stationed at the main intersections.

Aid stations. There are four aid stations for the half marathon, one approximately every 1.5 miles. Since this is an out and back race, you will pass the aid stations twice for your half marathon. The 5k will have only one aid station at the turn around. We will have water and our newest sponsor, HIDrate, available at each aid station.

Thank you to our aid station groups including Kona Coast Hash House Harriers, Holualoa Elementary, Kelly Hudik and company!

Party in The Pit!  We will have a professional DJ in The Pit, DJ Henny, so you can dance your way right up that hill!!!!

Weather. Temperatures will most likely be in the high 70s at the start of the race and up into the 80s (or 90s) by the finish. Please make sure that you are hydrating enough during the race. It’s going to be warm!
